Occasion Make Up for Hexham Races with Bloom Beauty

I very rarely get my make up done, mainly due to the hassle of having to go up to town for the appointment, factoring in enough time, and then having to get all the way back home to finish getting ready. Not to mention people gawping at you in public. When Bloom Mobile Beauty contacted me asking if I’d be interested in collaborating with them I was pretty taken with the idea. No travel, easy appointments, and in the privacy of your own home.

Bloom Mobile Beauty are a North East based mobile beauty company, who cover a full scope of treatments including nails, waxing, eyelashes, spray tans and make up. Their app allows you to book an appointment for a treatment of your choice, at a time convenient to you 7 days a week, and the assigned therapist will come to you to carry out the treatment.

I can be really fussy about things like this, I get my nails done in the same place I always have, I don’t touch my eyelashes, and I don’t have time for long drawn out appointments.

They got my attention with the occasion make up, which sounded really good and with a day at the races planned I thought why not, it will save me doing it no doubt with a case of watery eye and applying lipstick in the taxi.

My appointment was made, and I was kept up to date with email notifications, and on the day itself I could track where the therapist was so I could be ready for her arriving. All I had to prepare was a table and chair.

Beth was my beauty therapist and I loved her, from the moment she arrived she was so nice, so focussed on making sure I was comfortable, and asking what sort of look I wanted.

She was so easy to chat to through the whole appointment, and what I really liked was how much she encouraged feedback of anything I didn’t like, making sure I knew it was ok to change things, it wasn’t a criticism of her skills, it’s just different for each person’s personal preference.

She had a full range of make up products, and was happy to use any of my own if I had specific requests. She listened when I told her I didn’t want OTT ridiculous brows, and reassured me not to make any judgements when I saw my eyes with no foundation or face make up on. Note to self, don’t peak too early.

The appointment lasted about an hour, with five minutes either side for her to set up and pack away. It was really relaxing and completely took the stress away of doing it myself, and being in my own home meant I had so much more time for the other aspects of getting ready.

My favourite bit of the look were my eyes, which stayed just as prominent all day, and I picked up a few tips off Beth while she was here too, which always helps!

This is such a great idea, for very special occasions I do love to get my makeup done, I tend to go to Bobbi Brown in Fenwick and as much as I love the makeup, it’s not always that relaxing sitting in the middle of the shop and it is a bit of a ‘mare travelling back home after!

I love your look, you look incredible! Definitely going to save the details for next time I need an appointment!
