I understand that your privacy is important to you and that you care about how your personal data is used. I respect and value the privacy of every visitor to this site and will only collect and use personal data in ways that are described here, and in line with my obligations and your rights under the law.
Please read this Privacy Policy carefully and ensure that you understand it.

Information this policy covers

This policy only applies to this site. This site includes links to external websites, of which I have no control over the data they collect or use. I advise you to check the privacy policy of any sites you visit for their full privacy policies.

This policy outlines the data that may be collected by this site, how it is stored, shared and used, and how long for.

What personal data I collect and why I collect it

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site I collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitorโ€™s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

Contact forms

I use contact forms for private and direct communication with the site owner. The information sent via contact form submissions will be retained for a certain period of time until your query is dealt with, but I do not use the information submitted through them for marketing purposes, and they will not be shared elsewhere.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on this site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracing your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Analytics

This site is created through WordPress, which does not collect any analytics data. It does however use the Jetpack Analytics Plug In, which collects anonymous analytics data.

This site uses Google Analytics to measure and collect analytics data. You can view Google’s full privacy policy here.

Who we share your data with

Your personal data will not be shared with any third parties, unless I am legally obliged to do so.

How long we retain your data

If you contact me through the contact form on this site, your data will not be retained for longer than is necessary to deal with the enquiry, collaboration, partnership or cooperation that you have requested. Where there is no fixed period defined, your data will be retained for the life of this site.

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Where I send your data

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.

Contact information

For any queries or concerns you can contact me here.

This privacy policy may be updated regularly in line with legal requirements and changes to the site and it’s uses. I recommend that you read this regularly to ensure you are up to date.
