Blogmas Christmas

Blogmas: Christmas Gifts For Your Dog

Much to my surprise this was one of the most popular posts I shared last year. What was a bit of a joke as I was over excited for Arthur’s first Christmas turned into me having to apologise for things mentioned being out of stock. At least I’m not alone in going totally over the top for a dog. So here’s this years edition of Christmas gifts for your dog. And apologies in advance if anything sells out!

Christmas Gifts For Your Dog

Fenwicks

Fenwick’s have outdone themselves this year with a whole section for pets from various brands. They’re stocking a full range of Barbour including coats, collars, harnesses, blankets, beds and toys. We got Arthur a Barbour coat for his birthday, and I think I’ll get the matching blanket.

Lily’s Kitchen also feature in the pet section, with advent calendars for both dogs and cats, and nutritious healthy treats.

Joules have adorable waterproof coats in both bright yellow and navy and white stripes. Like Barbour they’re not the cheapest but I quickly realised last year it’s better to get decent quality than keep replacing cheaper ones.

Sweet William are the make that have really cute illustrations on dog bowls and other ceramics.

All of these are stocked in the pet section of Fenwicks Christmas, as well as other things like stockings, treats and novelty Christmas treats. I’ve got Arthur a dog cheese board (no cheese in sight) and a candy cane rope chew. Some, but not all of the items are available online too, but if you can get into Fenwick’s the pet section is great.

Pets at Home

When it comes to Christmas gifts for your dog, Pets at Home is probably a go to. They always have a really big seasonal section, with a lot of Christmas toys, but I find that they’re pricier than other places doing similar things. This year I’ve only got Arthur’s Christmas jumper from here, as they do those well. Shop pets at home dog Christmas jumpers and the full Christmas pet shop here.

The Range pet sectIon

This is my favourite shop for toys as they’re a lot cheaper than Pets at Home but last just as long. I also like their dog beds they’re good quality too, but I’m not as much of a fan of their coats or waterproof jackets.

The Christmas moose is back which I love, and after one too many toy massacres you realise the rope legs are great. They have a cheaper pet stocking than the one in Fenwicks, and they have good multipacks of treats. Shop the Range pet section here.

Sainsburys

The toys in Sainsburys are cute this year, Arthur’s already got the Christmas carrot, the gingerbread man and a new sprout. (Honestly at this point I can’t even believe I’m writing this stuff haha – a Christmas carrot dog toy wtf?!). Anyway, the big chicken chew sticks are also good for a ten minute distraction. Will be waggling one of those at Arthur in time for the Queens speech.

Shop the Christmas carrot and friends in store or online.

B&M/Wilkos

I know a lot of places sell all the same treats and brands of food, but I do find places like B&M and Wilkos cheaper especially if you’re buying in bulk. The Bakers treats are Arthur’s favourites and they have Christmas tins that contain a few variations.

B&M also have an excellent range of novelty Christmas outfits, including santas, snowmen and penguins. Very cute! Shop the pet section of B&M here.

Etsy gifts for your dog

If you’d rather shop small rather than the chain stores, Etsy is a really good place for unique gifts. There’s everything on there from pic n mix boxes, letterbox treat trays, to personalised items like blankets, stocking or toys. The only issue here is delivery times so better to shop early in December rather than leave it to late. I don’t want any angry dms this year!

Christmas events for dogs

Again this might sound ridiculous but I’ve spotted two Christmas events for dogs in the North East this year that still have availability. Firstly, South Causey Inn host regular dog walks with afternoon tea, and a photo opportunity in santas sleigh. They have one more event before Christmas on 18th December, find the details here.

Revolution de Cuba are also hosting a Christmas party for dogs on Sunday 19th December, in collaboration with Peanut Apparel. There will be Prosecco, a goodie bag for your dog, pet brands on sale to purchase, raffles and competitions. How cute!

Christmas gifts for your dog is obviously a bit of a laugh, but all jokes aside dogs are part of the family. I’d be lost without Arthur now. You could give them all the gifts in the world but by far the one they’ll love most is love and affection. Hope you have lots of festive fun with your dogs this year!
