Newcastle Instagram Accounts Under 10k Worth Following

Instagram is a minefield of content, accounts, algorithm issues, trends, stories and hashtags. Despite this, and my entire life basically surrounding it (my work, my blog, my hobby) it’s still my favourite social media platform by far and I’ve always been a big advocate for using it positively and responsibly. I’ll link some of my articles at the end, but this post is about some of my favourite Newcastle instagram accounts worth following.

There are a lot of Newcastle Instagram accounts about that are hugely successful, and there is a big misunderstanding about what classes as success on Instagram. The 10k mark gets a lot of attention, and Instagram made it that way when they made certain features only available to those over 10k. But that doesn’t mean that smaller accounts under 10k dont have some of the best, valuable and most enjoyable content out there.

All of these Newcastle instagram accounts are brilliant. They are some of my favourites to follow, and I follow over 4000. Because of this I have to sometimes hunt people out through search or saving their photos to try and get the algorithm to show me them more. So these aren’t all of the accounts under 10k worth following, but they’re some of my favourites and you might like them too.

@LauraJayneDesigns

A fabulous designer and the perfect person to chat to over a cuppa, I’ve used LJD for prints in the flat, cards, and even some bespoke prints and presents for people.

@SarascakesNortheast

I recently used SarasCakes for a celebration cake with a difference, a hollow smashable pink heart cake and she was great to work with. See her unique cakes and treats on her instagram.

I love this creative chunky arm knit account. They make gorgeous wall hangings, chunky wreaths and throws.

@Marinewifeandmum

A brutally honest account by Faye who I’ve actually known for years, she shares the realities of mum life with her boys and on being a marine wife.

@Mrsmccoll_andboys

I love Sarahs photo style and I think her boys are the best dressed kids out there with all their cute patterns and colours. A mix of her kids and general life.

@aurorajaneswardrobe

If the McColl boys are best dressed boys then Aurora is best dressed girl, with her adorable outfits and bows. If you need kids wear inspiration then her stories are great for mini and affordable hauls.

Bride to Be

Another very strong niche on instagram, here’s the two wedding accounts I follow.

@Glitteratti

Across Newcastle and London but ships to all over the UK Glitteratti is my cousins hen do hat designer. Hats, jackets and a lot more she will add a sparkle to your occasion.

@theweddingtaylor

Newly launched just a couple of weeks ago, the Wedding Taylor is my friend Hannah’s account. She is a very experienced wedding coordinator and is there to help, advise, answer questions and keep brides sane. She launched a ‘wine and whine’ Wednesday Q&A this week which was a big success.

I hope I’ve covered a good range of accounts all that have different strengths and purposes. Instagram is a lot more than just sharing photos there is a lot of information, help, support, entertainment and creativity to be found. I’ve linked some of my past posts on this below.

Being the big social media fan and professional that I am, I’m always interested in following new accounts that are killing it, whatever the niche or topic. Share any of your favourites if they’re worth a follow! Oh and shameless plug but here’s my account too 🙂
