The club shop is much better, with some great displays and the full range of kit, training wear and a lot more. The Christmas jumpers will be getting purchased, including one for Arthur 🐾

The 1892 corner has a bit of history on display, of course wor flags on display, and the personalisation station upstairs for names on the backs of shirts.

It’s levelled up and thankfully so did our performance yesterday 🖤🤍

A few standout dishes for me though are the Local Hero at Ernest, The Muff at Burds, and the pancakes at The Boatyard.

October was a treat 🤎🍂

Some highlights for me wereeee:

🥂 Feel like I’ve lived in Fenwicks with all their new additions from Barbour to Elan, the beauty hall and the champagne greggs - enjoyed it all

🧘‍♀️Hii Balance - loved the pilates classes I did and soon as my car service and insurance is paid for I’ll be buying another block. The whole experience at Hii is a mood lift

🍷 Had some really good food with friends, I love going out for dinner and drinks - Branches was a treat, and so was sitting in the sun outside at the coast even for this time of year

🌅 Sunrise therapy walks are thriving, those colours at this time of year 👌🏼

🍂 Evening crunchy leaf walks with Arthur, especially when they end at the pub, couldn’t love him more

Cosy pubs, Sunday dinners, time with friends, ticket ballot wins and enjoying the little moments. October you’ve been a goodun. Except for this last few days which has had my life with dentist, vet, dr and car appointments 💸

Sharing my Halloween post now because basically I don’t have one and I couldn’t have been less ‘Halloweeny’ this year.

So here’s a gloomy, misty, spooky Alnwick Castle that I share most years 🏰

Do you know the tale of Alnwick’s vampire 🧛‍♂️?

It’s a chilling tale from medieval Northumberland times, where according to the legend, a local man, described as a “revenant” or undead figure, returned from the grave after his death. He was said to prowl the town at night, spreading sickness and terror among the villagers. The residents dug up his grave and found his body unnaturally preserved, with blood on his lips—a sign of his vampire nature. To end his reign of terror the villagers burned his body.

Whether it’s true or not, I’ve always loved these photos from 2022. Happy Halloween! 🎃👻🕷️🕸️

Hotel du Vin Sunday Lunch 🍷

ad| Bistro du Vin at @hotelduvin Newcastle hosted me and my sister for Sunday lunch last weekend, for the traditional roast but with a bit of French inspiration too.

We began with cocktails and went on theme with a French 75 and a French Fizz, before we went up to the French market table for starters. This is where it’s a bit different, as it’s essentially a buffet experience with a range of appetisers including soup, salad and seafood. I really enjoyed this as I love a seafood course so helped myself to prawns and smoked salmon with marie rose sauce.

Mains you order from the menu and we both went for the roast sirloin of beef served pink. You could also get chicken and stuffing, both are served with all the trimmings and yorkshire puds. If you don’t want typical Sunday lunch you can order from the main course menu which includes seabass, gnocchi, burger and fries and a camemburger!

Think I need to try that another time but Sundays for me are traditional and I thoroughly enjoyed my beef with a glass of red.

For dessert we got the creme brûlée which is huge, and the chocolate terrine with cherry compote. It was very rich but lush and just the right size.

Really enjoyed the whole experience, it’s a bit different and the dining room is really nice but still a relaxed Sunday lunch environment.

The North Tyneside coast in 20 seconds 🌊

It’s my favourite time of year for sunsets and sunrises, the colours are incredible especially all the pinks you get in the half an hour before it comes up, plus it’s much quieter. January is also pretty good but by then you can’t feel your face 🧊

• told we’re ‘lucky’ rather than we’ve actually worked our arse off
•made to sit through the mansplain
• denied flexible childcare hours despite no difference to output
• not believed about our own bodies
• shamed for not going the gym
• asked when we’re getting married
• asked when we’re having kids
• asked when we’re having MORE kids
• confidence crushed by unnecessary comments on tinder
• ghosted because he’s just too weak to have a conversation - twice

and my own • called a slag for telling a particularly fragile ego that if he doesn’t want champagne with his greggs sausage roll he doesn’t have to go 🙃😂

Just a tiny handful of the realities girls I know have gone through…

So if ‘one stupid pr!ck’ is trying to ruin your life, pull an Elle Woods and remember who TF you are.
