Christmas shopping and Black Friday are coming up but the local spots need more support than ever these days. Make a day out of some of them and keep an eye out for late night shopping nights nearer Christmas the Park View and Tynemouth ones were great last year.

New bakery alert! When I was in Heaton for my na

New bakery alert!

When I was in Heaton for my nail appointment this week I paid a visit to this new bakery on Chillingham Road, just opened. They have coffees, pastries, cakes and even a cake fridge for cheesecake. I was hoping for a cinnamon roll which they didn’t have but instead I got a chai latte and an almond croissant - filled with apricot I have no regrets it was lush!

There are a couple of tables inside if you want to sit in, and it’s dog friendly. I will say on the day I visit they only had whole milk on offer for coffees - no variations or dietary options yet - but I’m sure they will get them it is the first week just so you’re aware.

A cute new spot and i’ll be going back for those croissants 🥐

Hii Balance at Hii Club 🖤

ad| The @hiibalance studio at @hiiclub_ opened a few weeks ago and it was the one I was waiting for. The low impact studio is all about wellness, with over 40 sessions including pilates, yoga, meditation, HiiFlow and HiiPower.

The studio is a dream environment to be in, clean, minimal, and gorgeous lighting at any time of day - it’s so cosy during the early morning 6:30am classes and bright and airy through the day with all those windows. They’ve really nailed the atmosphere I come away after every time feeling great about myself it’s such a mood lift.

I’ve been doing the 5 session intro offer where you can try out all the different classes within 10 days, but I stuck to pilates which i’ve been loving since summer when I could move again after my cracked rib.

I’ve done classes with both @kellylouisewhitfield and Elissa, different styles but I loved both and there’s such a mix of abilities, body shapes and reasons for being there for 45 mins in all our busy lives. Im anything but the stereotypical gym wellness girly and I know in the past I’ve felt like health clubs and gyms are the last places I want to be or like I’m out of place, but it really is anything but that.

There’s a whole program of sessions to suit your schedule and preference, and really manageable through the app.
Memberships for Hii Balance are now available, but you can also pay as you go for one off or block sessions.

Dont forget to order your shake or açai bowl before your class and they’ll have it ready for you when you come out!

Hii Balance is for me but if you’re a runner check out their run club, or a real fitness/gym goer then the Hii Club program might be for you. Whatever your preference everyone’s welcome and all under one positive lifestyle roof, @steffibarlowpt you’ve smashed it 👌🏼

Paid a visit to @sorastudio_ouseburn over the weekend after I saw the latest @rawprintshop prints available of the Lake District - you’ll have definitely seen their coastal prints and these Lakes ones are gorgeous of some of my favourite spots. I came away with two and a candle 🕯️

ad| The @fenwickofficial Beauty Hall revamp is complete and a glow up they have had ✨

It’s beautiful feels so much more open and easy to browse through all the counters. There’s a really big perfume area with lots of new ones, I made a beeline last night for the Jo Malone Christmas selection that’s now available, but the beauty counters…🥹

We finally have some of the high end brands we’ve been missing including Carolina Herrera, Hourglass and Trinny London, mixed in with all the ones we had previously. The Tom Ford section is absolutely stunning.

I’m going to be honest it’s a much more enjoyable experience browsing in there with the space, the lighting and the whole shopping experience than a certain other beauty spot recently launched. It’s obviously different markets but you just don’t feel rushed or packed in or hassled.

Along with the food hall, restaurants like Hyem, and the new opening of Elan and the Barbour Cafe @fenwickofficial really are in their thriving era right now 🤩

EL&N Cafe has arrived in Newcastle 🌸

Ad| I’ve been to a couple of the @elan_cafe branches in London including in Selfridges so knew it would be cute when I heard they’re opening in @fenwickofficial ☕️

And it is! I was at the preview evening last night where we sampled some of the menu including cocktails and coolers:

🍸 Ombré Passion Fruit Cooler, Strawberry Chemex Mojito, Pistachio Spanish Latte and a strawberry and matcha welcome drink. They’re all a bit different but delicious.

🍫 Food wise we had Caesar Salad, Mushroom & Cheese Melt Cube, Nutella French Toast and Pistachio & Rose Cake. It was all really good but the nutella french toast…🤤 this was my favourite and that’s really saying something as I’m not usually a sweet person. Divine.

🎂 They’re obviously known for their decadent fancy cakes, pastries and patisserie counter and as you can see they have a big selection of the most perfect looking selection to choose from, as well as filled croissants.

I wasn’t sure how it would fit given the bright, airy, neon and pink vibe they have but it’s part of the new Fenwicks beauty hall which has seriously levelled UP ⬆️ (more on that tonight! 💄) and it really works.

I think they’ve got the location perfect and it’s a great match(a) ✨

They officially open tomorrow 🌸🥂☕️

Brocksbushes Farm Shop 🎃

The difference in @brocksbushes_farm_shop now compared to what it used to be is crazy - it’s huge! We had a look round on Sunday and there’s so much more. The usual fruit and veg, a pies and pastries counter, butchers, local jars of jams, chutneys, spices etc. I enjoyed the frozen fruit you can scoop yourself.

There’s a lot of seasonal decor stuff about as well as some normal home sections, and a very small Christmas wall at the moment but I’m sure that will expand after pumpkin picking is finished.

🎟️ Tickets for their Christmas fair went on sale on Monday and the Saturday afternoon was already limited availability if you’re looking to go

The cafe is much bigger too with table service, outside seating and they do a bloody good milkshake.

Enjoy if you’re visiting for the pumpkin patch over the next few weeks 🍂
